GRP stair treads provide a durable, long-lasting solution for creating new staircases or improving the safety and performance when refurbishing existing stairs. Manufactured from glass-reinforced polymer, they deliver the same proven benefits as GRP open mesh grating, packaged in a purpose-designed stair tread format.
With a gritted, slip-resistant surface and featuring a solid reinforced nosing for additional protection at the step edge, GRP stair treads offer excellent underfoot grip, helping reduce the risk of slips and falls even in wet, oily or exposed conditions.
They are ideal for industrial environments and other locations where pedestrian safety is a priority.
Supplied as standard in a 38mm thickness, our GRP stair treads are available in two mesh formats:
Both options provide excellent slip resistance while allowing drainage and visibility through the tread.
Treads are supplied in a standard size of 1220mm x 275mm, suitable for many industrial stair applications. A cutting and fabrication service is available to provide bespoke sizes where required.
GRP stair treads can be supplied in plain colours or with a highlighted nosing to help improve step definition and visibility in safety-critical environments. This makes them particularly effective in areas with variable lighting or high pedestrian traffic.

GRP stair treads are widely used in:
GRP stair treads can be installed onto steel or GRP stair structures and are compatible with standard GRP fixing systems. For typical installations, we recommend four M-Clip fixings per stair tread to ensure secure and stable fixing.
